We approached Robyn to act as a celebrant for my mother’s memorial service and she was such an angel. I knew right away she was the sort of person my mother would have loved. We adored her and she was so unbelievably helpful. The service was perfect, she helped plan something entirely customised to our mum’s personality and beliefs, and we are so happy that we found her. ‘Funeral Angel’ is such an accurate way to describe her.
Why me? This might be why......
When a lifelong waterbaby is lost to the earth, the swimmers take to the ocean in their honour. This is so beautiful and so meaningful.
.....and the space is mine to hold........
Building a small altar for this memorial. A piece of his own art, flowers of his favourite colour, a candle, his ashes- a place to identify with, to say goodbye. In the absence of a coffin, it`s really important to build a space that guests can identify with. It doesn`t need to be expensive flowers or decorations, just some personal things.

For this service, we celebrated everything that mattered to G and his family. The music was Norse Pagan heavy metal. We formed a guard of honour and some of took a knee. We decorated the coffin with dragons and Bob Afet`s helmet. Everyone wore purple and black. It was my first Norse Pagan Dungeons & Dragons, Star Wars LOTR Goth funeral.
Three cheers for the tribute table at a funeral or memorial service. Here is where we have the opportunity to display our loved one`s personality in visuals. Photos, of course. Flowers, yes please. But let`s think a little further. What items represent their life? What were their favourite things, clothes, shoes, hobbies? What era were they born into? What was their occupation? Their favourite food? What were their values? What sports did they love? Decorating the space with things that make you think "oh that was sooooo them can really add to the feeling in the room.
......and after her ashes had been returned to the ocean, mother of all things, we threw flowers in after her and watched them wash gently away......
Education and experience are everything....... I`m always keen to learn something new and hear different ideas so my current study is @thefuneralfix - modern funeral training for out of the box funeral celebrants.......

I rarely post on here ( even though I know I should). I almost never post testimonials , either.... but this beautiful lady told me when she first called me about her husband.... "first I prayed to find the right person, then I googled". I have always believed that the right people will find me when they need me. I am so grateful when they do.
